Meet Sheldon Lavin the CEO of the OSI Group

Sheldon Lavin is the CEO and man behind the success of OSI Group. OSI Group is a company based in Aurora, Illinois, and it mainly deals with production and selling of value-added protein products to food service and retail brands. The CEO has all through been working tirelessly to expand OSI Group globally. Sheldon’s main focus is to bring processing of modern food to the entire world. To achieve this, OSI Group has recently acquired both the Flagship Europe plant and the Baho Food industry.

Before Sheldon Lavin joined the industry, that is 43 years ago, he was in the field of accounting and banking and also had a consultant firm. OSI has personnel of over twenty thousand employees in the entire world. Mr. Lavin joined the company back in the year 1970; and at that time the company was called the Otto & sons company. Later on Sheldon was appointed to partner with the 2 sons of the founder, after their father’s retirement. He then joined the corporation as his full time job after he was impressed by the strategies and the business culture put in place by the firm.

After Sheldon Lavin took the reigns of the company, he immediately began the journey of developing it into a worldwide firm. He led the expansion of the company’s operations to Australia, Philippines, China and South Africa. Throughout his entire life, Sheldon Lavin has been sharing with the less fortunate by contributing to several charities. Some of these charities include the Inner City Foundation of Chicago, Jewish United Fund, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Evans Scholarship Fund among other local and national charities.

During Sheldon’s tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of the OSI Group, the company received several awards which are clear indicators of his success. Some of these awards include the 2016 Globe of Honor Award which the company received from the British Safety Council. It received this award due to its exemplary management of environmental risks.

Sheldon Levin has also personally received the Global Visionary Award, an award given to visionaries who work towards converting their dreams to reality. He has also received other awards because of taking part in services such as being a Board member of the Goodman Theatre, President and Director of the Sheba Trustee for Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Board member of Rush University Medical Center, just to mention a few.
